Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Pocket Discovery Pty Ltd ("Pocket Discovery", "we", "us" or "our") respects the privacy of people who visit our website, contact us or use our services.

This Privacy Policy explains the personal information we may collect, how we use and protect it, and how you may contact us about it.

1. About Pocket Discovery

Pocket Discovery Pty Ltd provides software and related services for working with electronic documents, data and evidence.

Pocket Discovery Pty Ltd
ABN: 87 702 718 081
Email: info@pocketdiscovery.com

Privacy enquiries may be sent to the email address above.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with Pocket Discovery, we may collect your name, organisation, business contact details, account and authentication information, licence and subscription information, communications with us, and billing or transaction information.

We may also collect limited technical and operational information required to authenticate users, administer licences, maintain security and operate our services.

3. Customer documents and evidence

Pocket Discovery processes customer documents and evidence locally in the user's browser. Documents, load files and other evidence selected by the user are not uploaded to Pocket Discovery when they are opened, searched, reviewed or otherwise processed in the application.

Pocket Discovery's servers receive information needed for authentication, licensing, security and service operation. These communications do not include the customer's evidence collection.

If we introduce a feature that uploads or processes customer evidence on Pocket Discovery infrastructure, we will identify that feature and update this policy where appropriate.

4. How we collect and use information

We may collect account, contact, authentication, licensing, billing and technical service information directly from you, from your organisation, through your use of Pocket Discovery, or from service providers involved in operating our services. This does not include customer documents or evidence processed locally in the application.

We use this information to provide and administer Pocket Discovery, authenticate users, manage software licences, respond to enquiries, process transactions, maintain security and reliability, and meet legal and accounting requirements.

We do not sell customer contact information or customer evidence to data brokers or advertisers.

5. Authentication and licensing

Users may sign in through a Pocket Discovery-managed login service or an identity provider selected by their organisation. Authentication may involve the exchange of basic identity and authentication information between Pocket Discovery and the relevant identity provider.

The application communicates with our licensing service to confirm entitlements and manage active licences. These communications do not include the customer's evidence collection.

6. Cookies and browser storage

Pocket Discovery uses essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, local application functions, preferences and offline licensing.

Information kept in local browser storage remains on the user's device and is not uploaded to Pocket Discovery.

We do not currently use advertising trackers on the Pocket Discovery website or applications.

7. Service providers and overseas handling

We use service providers where reasonably required to operate and secure Pocket Discovery. Our licensing infrastructure and database are hosted with an Australian cloud provider in Australia.

We use Cloudflare to deliver and protect our website and application and to route requests to our licensing infrastructure. Cloudflare operates a global network, so limited account, authentication and technical information may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which Cloudflare operates.

If your organisation uses its own identity provider, authentication information may also be handled under that organisation's arrangements with its provider.

8. Security and retention

We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and loss.

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, for legitimate security and business purposes, or as required by law.

No Internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

9. Access, correction and complaints

You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you have a privacy question or complaint, contact:

info@pocketdiscovery.com

We will consider the matter and respond within a reasonable period.

Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to our handling of your information, you may also have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology or legal obligations change.

The current version will be published on our website and will state the date on which it was last updated.
